Set Your Sights
There are many things in this world that try to steal our attention away from Jesus. In Psalm 27, we see how David responded to his difficult circumstances. David received his strength from God and did not fear his enemies. In the New Testament, Matthew explains the account of Jesus walking on the water. Peter was so focused on Jesus that he stepped out of the boat in faith. However, the moment he took his eyes off of Jesus, he sank. May we keep our eyes fixed on the Author and Finisher of our faith, Jesus.
Scripture: Psalm 27, Matthew 14

    Our Greatest Need Is Forgiveness
In Matthew's account of the healing of the paralytic man, he made it clear that the man's greatest need wasn't physical healing. His greatest need was the forgiveness of his sins. While it's easy to focus on our physical needs, we cannot neglect the deeper need in our souls to be cleansed and forgiven of sin. Don't allow the guilt of sin to weigh you down, Bring it to Jesus and feel the freedom of forgiveness.
    Scripture: Matthew 9:2-8

Even When It Hurts: I’ll Praise You
If we're honest, life is really hard sometimes. It's easy to put on a facade and act as though everything is awesome, when it's not. In Psalm 13, we see that our sovereign and loving God can handle our biggest doubts and deepest pain. As we are honest with God about our pain, we can pray specifically for what we need God to provide in those moments. We can wrestle with the tension that our God is sovereign, but we still suffer. Let's praise God for the truth that we know, even when we don't feel that it's true.

Lost: The Lost Intention Of The Parable
Luke 15 is best known for the parable of the Prodigal Son. However, the father in the story had two sons. The older son represented the Pharisees who thought highly of themselves because they were outwardly obedient. It's easy for us, as believers, to have the same attitude of self-righteousness. God desires that our hearts be changed, and that our obedience would reflect a deep love for Him. We could never earn God's amazing grace.
    Scripture: Luke 15:25-32

Lost: To The Far Country And Back
In one of the most famous parables in the Bible, Jesus tells of a Father who had two lost sons. One son took his inheritance and wasted it all on reckless living. As we look more closely into this story, we see how serious the son's sin was and how much greater his Father loved him. Anytime a person turns from their sin and runs to Jesus is a cause for great celebration.

    God’s Amazing Grace Pt. 2
As Paul continued explaining the greatness of God's grace, he wrote about the incredible gift of faith that God gives us to be able to receive His grace. Both grace and the faith to believe in Jesus are gifts from God. God’s amazing grace leads to life transformation for the glory of God and good of others. May we shine in such a way that others see the good work of God in us and glorify Him.
    Scripture: Ephesians 2:7-10

    God’s Amazing Grace Pt.1
In Ephesians 2, Paul explains that before salvation, we are all dead in our sin. God’s amazing grace makes it possible for the utterly and totally lost to experience life to its fullest in Christ. God's grace delivers us from sin’s slavery, and God’s amazing grace helps us experience His great love.

    A Love That God Hates
In I John 2, John warns the believer in Jesus against loving the world. Loving the world is rebellion against God, incompatible with loving God, and it focuses our attention on the temporary instead of the eternal. We live in the world, but the world must not live in us. We can resist the world’s temptation of focusing on the temporary by focusing on the eternal One, Jesus Christ.
    Scripture: I John 2:15-17

    Loving God
When Jesus was questioned by the Pharisees about the greatest commandment, Jesus' response was twofold. First, He quoted from Deuteronomy and told them to love God with their entire being. He then instructed them from Leviticus to love their neighbors as themselves. Loving God is the highest objective of every true follower of Jesus. Loving God is demanding and requires us to love others as well. When we love God and love others, we are able to live in a way that glorifies God.
    Scripture: Matthew 22:34-40

    The Problem Of Evil Pt.2
    Series: WHY
As we continue to better understand the problem of evil, we are reminded that God is in control over all things. He allows, even wills evil and suffering to exist for the greatest and highest good of His glory. When you are a recipient of evil or suffering trust God not your circumstances. May we also learn to be better equipped to respond to people's hurts, even if the best thing we could do is be a comforting presence rather than trying to say anything.
    Scripture: Job 1-2:10
