The Hope Of Christmas: God Came Down
The virgin birth of Jesus is incredible because Son of God became man so that men can become sons and daughters of God. The humanity of Christ is a widely debated and very complex theological concept but one that is worth celebrating. The fact that God Himself, Jesus Christ, came down from the glory of heaven to live in this darkened world among His own creation, shows how much He loves and cares for us all. Our God is not distant. Jesus is Immanuel - God with us. He took on flesh to be the perfect and ultimate sacrifice to satisfy God's wrath toward sin.
Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25

Fighting For The Bottom: God’s Pathway To Unity Pt.2
    Series: UNITY
As we continue to fight for the bottom and embrace a life of humility, we can look to Jesus who gave us the perfect example of humility. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, chose to lay aside the glory of heaven and embrace a human body. He also was willing to die the worst death at that time by going to the brutal cross. He did all this to take the wrath of God that we deserved. We should lay aside our pride and embrace a live of humility so we can be unified for the sake of the gospel.
    Scripture: Philippians 2:5-11

Fighting For The Bottom: God’s Pathway To Unity Pt.1
    Series: UNITY
As believers, we are suppose to reflect Christ in the way we have compassion toward others, the way we think, and by our humility. These Christian virtues are not something that we can muster up on our own. It takes the Holy Spirit inside of us to work these virtues in our hearts. As we humble ourselves and seek to become more like Jesus, may we come together in unity to display and declare the good news of Jesus to those around us.
    Scripture: Philippians 2:1-4

In Paul's writings, he often spends time explaining the character of God and then calls the reader to action. In this passage of Scripture, we are called to live lives worthy of the name of Jesus. Even during times of suffering, we can live worthy, courageous lives by reflecting on the eternal good of the person of Jesus and by knowing that our citizenship is not on earth but in heaven.
    Scripture: Philippians 1:27-30

Living For The Advancement Of The Gospel Pt.2
    Series: UNITY
In his letter to the Philippian church, Paul encourages them that the gospel advances by the example and obedience of God's people. The same is true for us today. When we die to ourselves daily, we are killing the selfish inside us which is the essence of sin. We all can live unselfish lives that advance the gospel of Jesus Christ for the glory of our Savior, the good of the saints, and the good of the lost.

Living For The Advancement Of The Gospel Pt.1
    Series: UNITY
Many today struggle with finding the true reason for their existence, but we are here to glorify and delight in God and help others to do the same. One of the primary ways we can do all of this is by living for the advancement of the gospel. The gospel advances by the lives and examples of God’s people regardless of the circumstances. Let's live lives worth shadowing and point people to Jesus.
    Scripture: Philippians 1:12-18

Thankful In Thankless Times Pt. 2
    Series: UNITY
Paul explains in his prayer of thanksgiving that God is the one who began the good work of salvation in us. God is also faithful to finish our salvation in glorification. If the Holy Spirit did not draw us to Himself, then we would not have sought after Him. When God saved us, He brought us into His family. Let us be thankful for the work He continues to do in us to make us more like Jesus, and let's be thankful for the Christian relationships He has given us.

Thankful In Thankless Times Pt. 1
    Series: UNITY
Even though Paul was writing from prison, he was still able to be thankful. He was thankful to the church of Philippi for their partnership in the gospel. As we partner together and with Jesus Christ to further His gospel, we can be thankful in the thankless times we are living in. May our partnership be real and redemptive for the glory of Jesus Christ.
    Scripture: Philippians 1:3-7

    UNITY: An Introduction To Philippians
    Series: UNITY
As Paul was writing from prison, he urged the church toward unity for the sake of the gospel. If the church can come together to further the Kingdom of Jesus, true joy will be experienced in the life of each believer. Paul began his letter by identifying as a slave of Jesus Christ. In doing so, he reminded us all of our relationship to the Master. Let's embrace this calling to be slaves of Jesus Christ and be unified in our mission to love God, love people and love our world by displaying and declaring the Good News of Jesus.

All In: Doing Gospel-Centered Ministry Pt.2
Paul compared the Christian life to an athlete preparing for the Olympic Games. It takes a lot of self-control and self-disciple to be a follower of Jesus. We need to remember that we were saved to save. Jesus broke our chains of slavery to sin. Let's share that good news with others and pray that He too would free them from their bondage to sin. There is power in Jesus' name to break every chain.
    I Corinthians 9:24-27
