True Love
God is the only source of true love. He is the One who enables us to love those that seem to be the hardest to love. Jesus loved us when we were the most unlovable. He reached out to us and showed us true love. We must be willing to make that sacrifice of our time, money and energy for others and show them the same love Jesus poured out on us.
Scripture: I John 3 & 4

    Work It Out
When Paul was writing to the Philippians, he was encouraging them to exercise their faith in Jesus. Thankfully, we don't have to work out our salvation alone. God has given us His Holy Spirit to empower and enable us to become more like Jesus. May we make the effort daily to work out spiritually and exercise our faith for the benefit of ourselves and others around us.
    Scripture: Philippians 2:1-16

    Wrestling With God Pt.2
In His wrestling match with Jacob, God could have easily taken him down. However, God's desire in that moment was not to crush Jacob, but to strengthen His relationship with him. The trials that we wrestle through in our lives are used by God to draw us and others closer to Himself.
    Scripture: Genesis 32 & 33

    Wrestling With God Pt.1
Every great wrestling match has a background story that leads up to the fight. The account of Jacob wrestling with God is no different. There was a lot of  pain and sin in Jacobs life that he brought into the ring. God is big enough and strong enough to handle our past and it's okay to step in the ring with God and be honest about our feelings.
    Scripture: Genesis 32

    Sovereign Author
In Psalm 139, David explained the depths of God's knowledge and involvement in our lives. He declared that God was always present in his life, and that God was the Sovereign Author who lovingly planned all His days. The same is true for each one of us. God knows us and He has planned to use each of us to bring salvation to His people and glory to His name.
    Scripture: Psalm 139

    Questions
There are many times in our lives when we ask God questions, but what happens when God asks us something? God approached multiple people in Scripture and asked them various questions. Whenever God asks us something, He does so to lovingly teach us how to best continue the work He has prepared for us.

    Overcome Fear
In Paul's second letter to Timothy, he reminds him that God has not given us a spirit of fear. He has enabled us to overcome fear by remaining faithful to the work He has called us to do. We can do that by being an encouragement to each other as the Body of Christ. May we spur each other on in accomplishing the works God has for us as a church and individually.
    Scripture: II Timothy 1:1-7

    Good Preparation
We have a forgetting problem. We often forget where we came from, and we forget the life that Christ rescued us out of. If don't remember who we once were, we won't be prepared for the life we were meant to live. As we look to Christ and remember all that He did to bring us out of our depravity, then we can effectively accomplish the good work that He has for us.
    Scripture: Titus 3

    I’ll Never
When God spoke to Moses through the burning bush, He explained how He specifically wanted to use Moses to deliver His people from the bondage of Egypt. Moses gave every excuse as to how he could never be the one to accomplish this. We must trust God that when we calls us to do something, He will help give us the strength and abilities to accomplish His purpose.
    Scripture, Exodus 3 & 4

    Good Mentorship
As Paul was writing to Titus, he was instructing him to continue the mission by passing on the life, work and teachings of Jesus Christ to others. Not only was he communicating this to Titus, but he was telling the men and women to pass these on to younger people in the church. The church is most effective when everyone takes part in discipling others rather than leaving it up to the lead pastor on a Sunday morning.
    Scripture: Titus 2:15
